The rule of passive voice If you want to make passive Voice from active Voice please follow the rules, the sentence pattern and some examples below.make sure that you have to analyze the active voice. look carefully the rule below :

- The active Voice must have direct object ( object langsung )

here are the patterns how to change the active voice into passive voice

1. Active Voice pattern : subject (S )+ verb 1 + object ( o )

passive voice Pattern : object ( o ) + ( to be : am, is,are ) + verb 3 + by + subject ( s )

Example 1

Active Voice : They ( s ) kill ( verb 1 ) the dog ( object )

Passive Voice : The dog ( object ) is killed ( to be + verb 3 ) by them ( subject )

2. Active Voice Pattern : Subject ( s ) + verb 2 + object ( o )

Passive Voice : Object ( o ) + ( to be + were, was ) + verb 3 + by + subject ( s )

Example 2

Active Voice : We( s ) killed( verb 2 ) the bird( o ) yesterday

Passive Voice : The bird ( o ) was Killed ( to be + verb 3 ) by us ( s ) yesterday.

3. Active Voice Pattern : Subject + have, has + verb 3 + Object

Passive Voice : Object ( o ) + have been, has been + verb 3 + by + subject ( s )

Example 3

Active Voice : we ( s ) have studied( have +verb 3 ) Math( o ) this morning.

Passive Voice : math ( o ) has been studied ( has been + verb 3 ) + by Us ( s )
